Mortar – Tuscan Olive Wood

Grinding spices in a mortar carved from Tuscan olive wood is a different experience entirely.

The weight is right, the surface is naturally dense and smooth, and the warm grain golden, amber, occasionally dark with figuring makes every mortar a piece worth keeping on the counter. Available in a live edge Ø14 cm version that preserves the natural outline of the wood, and a smooth Ø12 cm for a cleaner, more refined look, both are shaped and finished by hand in our Cortona workshop.

Paired with a matching pestle, they are built for real use: crushing garlic, grinding pepper, making pesto the way it has always been made in Tuscany.
